    Things are looking up
Having maintained that I was not activly looking for a new relationship, because I'm going back to Trent in september, things have been plodding along as expected. Till last weekend. Thats when Dom came into my life. Shes a little random, granted. But shes a bubbly personality, always up for a laugh and....for some strange and highly bizarre reason, is interested in me! Happy days. As of today (friday) we are now officially an item! And things couldn't be better!

    Panic!
I bought Panic! at the Discos' album on the strength of "I write sins, not tragedies" which could have ended up being a waste of £7.99. However, turns out probably the best £7.99 I've ever spent on an album, its fantastic all the way through. Had it on in the car on sunday when me and Lucy went to Tylers for a bit and she said she'd love to go see them if they were playing somewhere near to us. That thought twigged in the back of my mind that I'd seen they were playing Rock City in the not too distant future, so I got on their web page and checked. Hot Digity! they're playing RC on April 27th.....but its sold out not the first gig thats done that to me this year! So quickly got on ebay. Several people were selling tickets, most going for around £40 for a pair. Started bidding on a couple of pairs but got out bid on both. Finally decided that I really wanted to see them so just go all out to win some, but not pay too much over the odds. Hardly gonna stick to that tho as at the box office they were only £8.50! Typical luck for me someone else had the same idea so the price got pushed up above the £40 they had been going for previously. £56 I paid for a pair! extortion at its best that is, buts done now! Lucy said she'd pay me something towards them so not all bad.

Work was pretty dull last night. Nothing spectacular as per usual. I now have Bob Bobertson, aka bob from weebl and bob as a buddy on myspace, how cool is that! Anyone wants to see my space its www.myspace.com/brinkofperception

My credit card came today. Only gonna use it to buy tickets for concerts, so hopefully I won't be missing out on so many more but we'll wait and see about that. Will be buying my leeds ticket with it next month! So Dave and Katie and anyone else who wants to come with, hurry up and get yours! Was chatting to Tara last night, ain't seen her in ages.......I think the last time I did see her she was dressed to match her bowling ball....all pink it was a worrying sight to behold. Going to meet her on friday altho why I agreed to go in at 11am I'll never know, means about 3 1/2 hours sleep for me on friday! Muppett!

    Overtime.....now theres a good idea.
Agreed to do some more overtime tonight, which I'm Really! looking forwards too....not! But then again I won't be complaining next friday come pay day so.... Went into town yesterday to get myself an MP3 player to use at work, cause frankly there can be jack all on the radio most nights till 3am. Went into Comet after bumping into Katie in the Tritton Road car park and found a decent Phillips model, 3Gb memory so can hold about 1500 songs which is more than enough, not even sure I have that many songs that I like. Anyways, just my luck that I chose wasn't in stock . So I won't have it for the 6 hours I'm doing tonight, 12am till 6am. I can pick it up on wednesday, which is better than nothing I guess....but still!

    A7X
Saw Avenged Sevenfold earlier and the gig was really good! Definitely worth going to, despite having to stand in the rain for an hour before hand However my damp mood was improved alittle by the incredibly hot girl stood next to us in the queue, who poked me in the head with her umbrella! Anyways, decided, in the interest of my safety to stand on the balcony, rather than mix in with the crowd on the dance floor because there was a high probability of mosh pits and I don't wanna die just yet Turned out to be a good move cause the crowd went beserk when A7X came on! Anyways, their set was really good, fall of the long guitar solo's that are all over City of Evil. Finished with Bat Country, which is my favourite song of theirs that I've heard so far and that was really good, best song in the set. My ears are still ringing too but it was worth it! Missed the Futureheads who were on at the Rescue Rooms, just round the corner from Rock City which was annoying, compounded by Bloc Party being on tomorrow (Thursday) which I can't get to either Liverpool got knocked out the the Champions League too which sucks frankly but we'll be back for our trophy next season. Now we can focus on knocking the manc's out of our rightful seond place in the league! Football tomorrow, so get a good run around before work, then McDonalds breakfast friday morning which I'm looking forwards too, so hungry!

    mount everest....the second
Man I hate ironing. Slowing getting through the pile in the corner of the room. Should have done it last week but got the sick bug. So, work was pretty dull last night, the usual tribualtions to acompany it. More of the same tonight no doubt! Then a work free day tomorrow, as I'm going to see Avenged Sevenfold! However something I found out last week has dampened my mood a tad. Namely, the same night as Avenged Sevenfold are playing at Rock city, The futureheads are playing round the corner at the Rescue Rooms. Which sucks frankly cause I really wanna see them! Then, just to add to my misery, I've found out Bloc Party, another band I really want to see, are playing the Rescue Rooms the day after stupid 2006, was supposed to be nicer to me but this is the thrd gig I've missed after boy kill boy! Just hoping they'll be at the leeds festival. Been thinking about getting a low limit credit card, so I can book tickets for gigs I spot, cause at the minute I don't have the right type of card to do so. Would have got to the Boy Kill Boy gig had I got one before! Think I may do that now!

    Giant drag....that was surreal!
Went to see the Like tonight at Rock City. Had only heard a couple of their songs but I liked what I'd heard so thought I'd go for the hell of it. Was in Rock City's basement so there were only about 75 - 100 people there in total but the intimate atmosphere made it a good gig still. First support band were called the Bright Space. Local, midland indie rock band. Were pretty good, had some good songs. Reminded me a bit of the Doves at times so anyone who likes them I recommend looking them up, see what you think.

Then came Giant Drag. Nothing quite prepares you for Giant Drag. Its an experience, but it was a brilliant one. They're a reverse White Stripes, with the girl on guitar and the bloke on drums. Totally different sound tho. Very weird, with songs called "You fuck like my dad" and "Kevin is gay". First thing Annie Hardy did when she came on stage was cough up a load of phlem and spit it on the floor, NICE!!!!!!!! . She then proceeded to tell everyone how she had left a banana skin on the floor in the hall, in the hope someone would fall over on it, then slipping up on it herself on her way out! Daft Bint!! She looked like she was about 16, it was quite scary. But she was a fantastic guitar player. Some guys at the side of the stage keeping saying they loved her after every song finished. Broke into a little jingle about buying their album at the back between songs too which was pretty clever, poor, but clever! The gig took a surreal twist when two girls at the front of the stage handed her a pair of sequined, red womens knickers. Which she wore as a sort of bandana for the rest of the set! . The came the story about how, when she was eight and a half, she had a boyfriend, who was thirteen and a half. Apprently, she wrote a song for him, which he then stole and released himself. Before she broke into their verison of "Wicked game" by Chris Issac. At which point the joke hit home! Cue more phlem expullsion, which she called a "loogie brow" i think it was....yes, nice! still everyone was laughing. Then she told us "if we liked their music, to go buy their album. Or if we didn't like their music, to buy their t-shirt instead! Cracking delivery, had everyone in hysterics. Then one of the lads piped up and asked if Annie would marry him. She suggested subscribing to the mailing list, altho she wasn't even sure if they had one! . Finished their set and went, altho didn't play their Slayer song she was considering.

Then, finally, The Like arrived. I would just like to point out that Z (the lead singer) and Charlotte (the bass player) are extreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeemly hot! Anyways, they got into their set and they had some pretty good songs in their catelogue. "June Gloom" and "What I say and what I mean", the two songs they have released were really good and based on their performance last night, I think I will go out and get their album when its out, apprently I have to because "they need to eat!". I think Z was more pissed off that the two guys who had been saying "I love you" to Annie had moved and weren't saying to her, and she said as much! One of the songs didn't get as big a round of appaulse as the other songs and she proceeded to rant at us! "Don't you like us? Or was that bad? Oh I hate you all! Especially those guys who were saying I love you to Annie during their set, she told me and said they wouldn't during our set and they're not, Bastards!" which was pretty funny. I got a free badge and this booklet telling everyone just how weird the Like girls really are .

Overall, very glad I went. Better than I was expecting. Just a little pissed I've missed out on the Boy Kill Boy gig on sunday

    VXR Challenge
Travelled 3 hours to a kart circuit in Coseley today. Made it to the edge of town fine just couldn't find the circuit, stupid route planner. Tried my hardest to get lost but found it eventually. Had a quick brief with the FHM and Vauxhall guys then went onto the circuit. Got 25 laps to set a decent time. Kept getting hideous oversteer and understeer but thought I was setting pretty good times. Caught up with someone else just before the finish and ran a few laps behind him. I was catching him so thought I was improving my lap times. After we came off we went into the VIP sweet and I found out I HAD set the fastest time in our heat. So me and another lad had a quick 2 minute interview with the VXR girls....who were very very nice! Then I was done. I was 6th fastest overall when I left so hopefully I'll be in with a shot of making the finals in Barcelona. Some conselation may come from winning a Vauxhall Racing Coat. They had Toca Race Driver 2 on a Xbox and were doing time trials on that to. haven't played the PS2 version in over a year nearly but beat the top time at the time I had my go by 20 seconds so heres hoping.

    Runaway!....
Renaming my rabbit houdini. Why? well, I came back from work on tuesday morning, went round the back of the house to feed the rabbit like every morning. The light didn't come on which meant I had to do it all in the dark. Got the rabbit food out and started feeling around for the latch when I realised the door wasn't closed properly. A brief search found no bunny in the hutch. went inside to switch the outside light on and went back outside, only to see bunny sat at the end of the drive. Got close to her but she hid under the car, just out of reach on all sides. Then she dashed down the drive and into nextdoors back garden. It was pitch black round there but my phone provided enough light to spot her behind their shed. Evidently her eyes ain't as good as her ears as I was able to pounce on her and put her back into her hutch. I have no idea how she got out as I fed her at 3pm on monday and changed the water and I'm sure the door was closed.....mystery! Work sucked last night, so hard, stupid machine was ridiculously fast!

    right, back to work.....
Back to work tonight, happy days! Is it just me or did those 10 days go really really quickly!??! Anyway, went out last night for lucy's actualy birthday, not the fake one you had last friday which I'd rather not talk about, thanks Scott for embarassing me, much appreciated! So I was wondering what I could buy her as a present. I thought about getting her something that would really suit her personality.....then about 0.002 seconds later thought nah thats not me at all and bought her a candy bra and g-string instead....well, why not! So several pictures got taken of her wearing them with people eating random bits of them...I've had better candy but it was ok. New years was a good laugh too. Fancy dress do at the crossroads. I went as Santa, mainly because I had the costume from when I worked at Ocean and I hadn't got much chance to arrange anything else. I had 3 pitchers all to myself....but I still didnt feel drunk. Shame. Anyway, yesterday I discover I have yet another flat tyre on my car, bloody thing. So thats another load of money down the pan unless I can get it repaired, which would be significantly cheaper. Plus my left rear tyre is in need of looking at. I was told I had a nail in the tyre when I had it serviced but it wasn't leaking air, just to keep an eye on it. I went to put some air in my tyres earlier and it was down from its normal 28psi to......8psi....basically flat! So that one needs seeing to as well.....fooking tyres. That'll be 5 tyres in as many months.....for crying out loud.

    Franz
Went to see Franz Ferdinand last night. Wow, what a concert! The Rakes were pretty good, so were the editors but Franz were something else! They played all of their good songs, Take me out was amazing, Do you want to was great, Darts of Pleasure, Michael, Dark of the Matinee, Walk Away, Jacquline, Auf Asche, Tell her Tonight were all brilliant. They played Eleanor put your boots on which annoyed me cause that songs is pants, but finished with Outsiders which is one of my favourites off their new album and This Fire was their last song which was fantastic too. My ears are still ringing but I don't care. I'd go see them again tomorrow If I could!

    urge to kill.......rising
Work sucked royaly last night. Mainly down to johnathan Green. Don't know what he was doing for the last hour of his shift, but he had left no boxes for me on any of the machines, all the machines were practically overflowing and all the pallets in the stoarge area were full. On top of that, He had brought no spare pallets in from outside, he's stacked 9 boxes of one product on the conveyor because he hadn't got any pallets left and altho he did have the decency to make me some boxes, put no bags in them! Fool! So I spent 2 hours catching up with that lot. Made for a very stressful night. At least I can relax in the fact I now have a 9 day weekend! Yay!

    wow......
Alkaline trio gig last night, all I'm gonna say is wow, what a night. Gig was absolutely amazing! Test-icicles were pretty good, but I could hardly hear the lead singer to begin with but it got better. The some random japanise bloke came on called Mike. Sorry Dave but he sucked! Then when Trio came on everyone went mad. Crowd started pushing and shoving, so much so I lost Dave and TC in a sea of people! Managed to ride the wave all the way to the front which ruled, just like Dave said we would. So many crowd surfers came over my head, got kicked in the back of the head twice! The spent the whole night squashed against the front three rows of people. I was in a girl sandwich at one point.....which was nice! Altho I think the girl in front probably thought I was rubbing myself on her leg! Had no breathing room and spent the whole time trying to make sure I wasn't pushed backwards away from the stage. Anyway, They were amazing live. When they went off everyone started chanting for them to come back and they came back and played "time to waste" and another song the went. So good live. Can't wait till monday to go see Franz. Gonna be great!

    Where the buffalo roam.....
I've been in contact with Sara Nadin, the course administrator at Trent Uni. She'd sent me a letter saying I hadn't enrolled yet and she wished to know what my plans were. I e-mailed her back saying I wished to differ my entry for another year. She informed me that I was only able to differ my entry for one year, which shocked me because I had been led to believe I could do so for 2 or 3 years. So needless to say that kinda worried me. I had to e-mail Robert Graves at uni to ask him if it was ok to differ for another year. After a week of no reply I thought it wasn't looking good so I e-mailed Sara again to ask what was going on and she informed me Mr. Graves had said it was ok. So its all good. Well, nearly. Just got to wait on the LEA to confirm its ok about my student loans, tution fee's being paid etc... then I'm ok to go back. So now thats the plan. I'm glad to be going bac to be honest. Its unfinished business. Plus I like life in Nottingham, theres more stuff to do, places to go, plus its not far from Donny Park so its easy to go watch some motorsport! Gonna make sure I put in 100% this time, no distractions. Won't make the same mistakes again, if you get my drift.
